Austin Bombing Suspect: ‘I Wish I Were Sorry but I Am Not’

The suspect in a series of bombings that tormented the city for three weeks described himself as a “psychopath” in a cellphone recording police retrieved Wednesday.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, police sources recounted Mark Conditt saying he felt as though he were disturbed since childhood.

“I wish I were sorry but I am not,” he said.

The Statesman reported Thursday that the video was recorded after 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Conditt starts it by saying, “It’s me again,” and blamed himself for going to a FedEx store in an Austin suburb to mail two explosive devices, which helped investigators find him.
