There are a very small number of people who really hate Marvel’s hit blockbuster, Black Panther. We’re not talking about people who are casually ambivalent toward it; just people who really, actively hate it.
There are also a very small number of people who really hate Star Wars.
So, what are the chances that there is someone in the galaxy who really hates them both?
Well, such a person has been found.
Meet Gaspar Noe, a film director in his own right.
In an interview with Variety, Noe says he walked out of Black Panther after 20 minutes because he hated the R&B music in the film. (Actually, there wasn’t enough R&B in the movie soundtrack to hate.) He compared it to Star Wars which he also claims to hate. (Not sure if he’s talking about the entire Star Wars franchise or just the latest slate of films — The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi.)
Here’s this hater’s comments to Variety in full:
I tried “Black Panther.” I escaped from the cinema after 20 minutes. I thought it was as bad as “Star Wars.” I hated “Star Wars.” I hated the R&B music [in “Black Panther”]. The music was so bad that I had to escape. But you know which one I like? What’s the name of the Denis Villeneuve movie? “Arrival.” That one was good.
Reader, you know what you might hate? Gaspar Noe’s new film, Climax, which is about a bunch of people who get hopped up on drugs and go on a psychedelic horror trip.
