Pastor Rudolph McKissick, Jr., Asks for Prayer After Major Surgery; Unable to Preach Until August

Pastor Rudolph W. McKissick, Jr.

Rudolph McKissick, Jr., pastor of the Bethel Baptist Institutional Church in Jacksonville, FL, has asked for continued prayer after undergoing surgery on his vocal chords that left him unable to preach until August.

He wrote on his Facebook page yesterday, “Let me take a moment to thank all of you for your prayers during my surgery. It’s amazing and humbling to know that so many people care enough to take time out to pray. Now soliciting your prayers during this LONG recovery. Some scarring was found on vocal chords that may call for some changes. So please target your prayers towards that. But I still believe God!”

McKissick made the announcement about the surgery via video last Sunday, June 3. He said the doctors were unable to tell him what his voice would sound like afterwards. The operation took place on Monday, June 11th.
