Iran’s presidential elections are being held today, but many Iranians don’t care. Politicians who promise to bring reform and fight corruption have regularly been disqualified from elections. This year, only 7 candidates out of 592 were approved to appear on ballots.
In the last year, Iran has faced locusts, COVID-19, earthquakes, mysterious explosions, political turmoil, the death of an Iranian general, and burning ships. So when the Iranian government took the opportunity to implement a new law condemning the use of virtual ministry, no one noticed.
